Cookie Policy

Last updated: January 1, 2025

This Cookie Policy explains how InferX, Inc. ("InferX," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website at getinferx.com and our web-based platform dashboard. It describes what cookies are, why we use them, the specific cookies we deploy, and how you can manage your cookie preferences.

This policy is provided in conjunction with our Privacy Policy, which provides additional detail about how we handle personal information collected through cookies and other means.

1. What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. Cookies are widely used to make websites function properly, to remember user preferences, and to provide website owners with information about how their site is being used.

Cookies are set either by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by other services that content on that page comes from ("third-party cookies"). Cookies have different lifespans:

2. Types of Cookies We Use

InferX uses the following categories of cookies on getinferx.com:

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website and platform to function. Without them, core services cannot be provided. Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent and cannot be disabled through our cookie consent mechanism.

2.2 Functional Cookies

Functional cookies allow the website to remember choices you have made and to provide enhanced, personalized features. They may be set by InferX or by third-party providers whose services appear on our pages.

2.3 Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help InferX understand how visitors interact with the getinferx.com website. They collect information such as the pages most visited, time spent on the site, and where visitors came from. This information is used in aggregate to improve the website experience and inform content decisions.

InferX uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for website analytics. IP addresses are anonymized before being stored in Google Analytics. Data collected through analytics cookies is retained for 26 months by default, per Google Analytics's standard retention setting.

Specific analytics cookies on getinferx.com:

Cookie Name Purpose Duration Type
_ga Google Analytics — distinguishes unique visitors by assigning a random client ID 2 years Third-party (Google)
_ga_[measurement_id] Google Analytics 4 — maintains session state for current analytics session 2 years Third-party (Google)
_gid Google Analytics — identifies a user session (24-hour window) 24 hours Third-party (Google)
_gat_gtag_* Google Analytics — throttles request rate to Google servers 1 minute Third-party (Google)

2.4 Marketing and Advertising Cookies

InferX does not use advertising networks or retargeting cookies on getinferx.com. We do not share website visitor data with advertising platforms for purposes of serving targeted advertisements. If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated with specific disclosure before any such cookies are placed.

2.5 Performance Cookies

Performance cookies help InferX monitor the technical performance of the website and platform, including page load times, error rates, and infrastructure health. This information is used solely for operational purposes.

Specific performance cookies on getinferx.com:

Cookie Name Purpose Duration Type
dd_rum_* Datadog Real User Monitoring — tracks page load performance and frontend errors Session Third-party (Datadog)

3. Similar Technologies

3.1 Local Storage

In addition to cookies, InferX uses browser local storage on the platform dashboard to store user interface state data — open/closed panel configurations, selected date ranges, and similar UI preferences. Local storage data is stored on your device and is not transmitted to InferX servers with each request. You can clear local storage data through your browser's developer tools or by clearing site data in your browser settings.

3.2 Session Storage

Session storage is used for temporary data during your active browser session, such as unsaved form state. Session storage is automatically cleared when you close your browser tab.

3.3 Web Beacons

InferX may use web beacons (also called pixel tags or tracking pixels) in marketing emails to determine whether emails have been opened and links clicked. This helps InferX understand which communications are useful to recipients. Web beacons in emails can be disabled by disabling automatic image loading in your email client settings. Web beacons on getinferx.com web pages operate in conjunction with analytics cookies as described above.

4. How We Obtain Your Consent

When you visit getinferx.com for the first time, a cookie consent banner is displayed that explains InferX's cookie use and allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored in the inferx_cookie_consent cookie for 12 months.

Strictly necessary cookies are placed regardless of your consent choice, as they are required for the website to function. Functional, analytics, and performance cookies are only placed if you accept cookies via the consent banner.

If you decline cookies, the website will continue to function normally, but some features may be less personalized and we will not be able to track website usage for analytics purposes.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

5.1 Changing Your Preference on getinferx.com

If you initially accepted cookies and wish to withdraw consent, or if you initially declined and wish to accept, you can change your preference by clearing the inferx_cookie_consent cookie from your browser's cookie storage and then reloading the page. The consent banner will reappear, allowing you to make a new selection.

To clear cookies in major browsers:

5.2 Browser-Level Cookie Controls

All major browsers provide controls for managing cookies. Depending on your browser, you can:

Browser cookie controls are accessible through your browser's Settings or Preferences menu, typically under a Privacy or Security section. Consult your browser's help documentation for specific instructions.

5.3 Opt-Out Tools for Third-Party Services

For cookies set by specific third-party services, the following opt-out tools are available:

5.4 Do Not Track

InferX respects browser-level Do Not Track (DNT) signals. When DNT is enabled in your browser, InferX will not place analytics cookies during your session on getinferx.com. Strictly necessary cookies are placed regardless of DNT status as they are required for basic website functionality.

6. Cookies in the InferX Platform Dashboard

The InferX fraud detection platform dashboard (accessed after login at app.getinferx.com) uses a distinct set of cookies from the marketing website. Dashboard cookies are exclusively first-party, strictly necessary, and functional cookies required to maintain authenticated sessions, provide secure access, and store user interface preferences. No analytics or advertising cookies are used within the authenticated dashboard environment.

If you are a platform user and have questions about data processing within the dashboard, refer to your company's Data Processing Agreement with InferX and the Privacy Policy.

7. Impact of Blocking Cookies

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the InferX dashboard from functioning. You will not be able to authenticate or maintain a logged-in session. The marketing website will remain accessible, but some interactive features may not function correctly without session cookies.

Blocking functional cookies will result in loss of stored preferences — display settings will revert to defaults on each visit, and form pre-fill functionality will not work. The website will otherwise function normally.

Blocking analytics cookies has no functional impact on your use of getinferx.com or the platform. InferX will not be able to count your visit in aggregate traffic statistics, but no service capability is affected.

8. International Transfer of Cookie Data

Some cookies set by third-party services on getinferx.com (Google Analytics, Intercom, Datadog) result in data being transferred to and processed in the United States, regardless of where you are located. These transfers are covered by the data transfer mechanisms described in InferX's Privacy Policy (Standard Contractual Clauses for EEA/UK visitors). Each third-party service has its own privacy and data transfer documentation:

9. Updates to This Cookie Policy

InferX may update this Cookie Policy when we add new cookies, remove existing cookies, or change the purposes for which we use cookies. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. For significant changes that affect your rights, we will display a notification on the website and, if you have an account, send notice to your registered email address.

We recommend reviewing this Cookie Policy periodically. Your continued use of getinferx.com after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
